Hi, I’m Simon Kriss

I am Asia Pacific’s leading voice on the adoption and application of AI, and Co‑Founder of Sovereign AI, a national initiative building transparent, ethics‑led AI capability for Australia. With over 35 years of experience across some of the world’s biggest brand names, I bring a rare combination of futurist innovation and pragmatic business leadership.

I am a divergent thinker and so I specialise in futurist innovation. I mix wonderous and adaptive thinking together with sound business pragmatics in everything I do.

My happy place is on stage, and I am just as comfortable addressing 2,000 conference attendees as I am discussing with the Board of Directors or talking with frontline staff. I have the uncanny skill of taking difficult and complex concepts (such as AI) and simplifying them so that all audiences can understand and adopt.

A defining career moment was speaking at the United Nations in Geneva at the AI for Developing Countries Forum, where I explored the hidden ethical and environmental costs of AI, themes that continue to underpin my work with Sovereign AI today.

While I am a trusted advisor, keynote speaker and author, I am also a father to three adults and grandfather to eight wonderfully imaginative grandchildren.

I value diversity, integrity, honesty, and self-accountability. I also really love a challenge to solve – with or without AI.
